If you’ve been using Jira or any project management software for sometime, you’ve probably noticed that columns and statuses are usually perceived as an item and one should reflect the other. However, the flow of work is not always completely linear and straightforward and sometimes out-of-the-box columns don’t meet all of our needs as we expected them to.

With ADVANCED COLUMNS you can choose exactly what to keep in your board with JQL Searches and saved filters that will provide more autonomy and allow you to customize your columns according to yours and your team’s needs. This way, instead of depending on a project’s filter to see the relevant issues, you can simply construct a query that brings you what you’re looking for and display it in a customizable column.

If you haven’t visited our documentation about boards yet, considerar paying a visit to our DYNAMIC BOARDS page.

Columns represent steps that your issues must go through and usually are strictly related to your workflow statuses. With Advanced Columns they’ll reflect your saved filters, so you’re free do personalize them however you want and rely only on your JQL queries. This way, each user can see their own board in the way that better fits their needs withouth affecting the project’s view or workflows.
