It is not uncommon for non-users of a board to be responsible for creating them, or to have a colleague creating a board for you for whatever reason. Since boards owners are granted all the administrative privileges, sometimes having someone who is not an active user of a board is not the ideal scenario, and you need to either transfer the ownership to you or another colleague. To do that, check the following steps:

To be able to change the ownership of a board, you need to be an APP Administrator. Visit our documentation on MAKING A USER AN APP ADMIN to check if you have the necessary permission or to concede the respective privilege to a user.

✍️ Step-by-Step:

  1. Access the homepage by navigating to “Apps” and clicking on “Advanced Columns”.

  • From the homepage:

  1. Choose the board you wish to change the ownership of, click on (blue star) and on “Change Owner” right after:

  • From within a board:

  1. Access the board you wish to change the ownership of by clicking on its name.

  2. Once inside the board, click on (blue star) and on “Change Owner” right after:

  1. Once the modal has opened, select the desired user to become the new board owner and click on “Save” to apply the change:

📝 Important Tips:

  • Once the owner is changed, the selected user will have all the administrative privileges within the board. If the board is private and you’re not an admin, you will no longer be able to see in the homepage ou access by a link.
