Boards are a project management tool designed to help teams visualize and track work in a more efficient way. It’s based on a JQL search that brings all the issues that needed to be shown and displays them as cards that can be transitioned to the available columns. Columns represent the status of a team’s workflow and can be personalized according to their needs to reflect their process more accurately.

If you’d like to know more about columns and how they work, you can visit our page dedicated to ADVANCED COLUMNS.

The main idea of a board is to display work in a dynamic and consice structure to allow people to keep up with what everyone is doing and to also encourage a more proactive, collaborative and commited approach to the pending work and the work in progress. A board admit an infinite amount of columns, but we recommend keeping it at what your team actually needs.

On the homepage, all the boards whose you’re the owner or the administrator will appear in a list like the one shown below:

Here, you can either search for specific boards by their name and description in the textbox or filter them by their owners/admins. You can also create a brand new board by clicking “Create Board” on the top right. Note that when you create a board you’ll automatically become its owner.
